Geography and layout


Dire Maul contains three wings and two of them are linked, and are all made up of one giant map. The wings are called Warpwood Quarter (east), Capital Gardens (west) and Gordok Commons (north). The Capital Gardens and the Gordok Commons are housed in one location, and were previously connected through The Athenaeum, but this is no longer the case. The end of a long corridor that isn't visible on the official map you will now find only a dead end and will be seen as having no place, even in it is the Gordok Commons. At the center of Dire Maul, connecting the three wings, is an open plaza filled with ogres, and housing what was considered to be a unique PvP arena. This arena was known by the name of The Maul, consisting of a rectangular pit with access points and exits on the West and East sides, was similar to the Gurubashi Arena in Stranglethorn Vale and was "free for everyone" PvP battles were allowed within its walls.


Warpwood Quarter (36-46)


Warpwood Quarter (aka Dire Maul East ) is acquired by the sinister Alzzin the Wildshaper, an satyr who has changed the fruit of Fertility tree so that it can produce horrible (Felvine Shards). The most famous inhabitants of Capital Gardens Capital Gardens is Immol'thar, the demon who was imprisoned on this plane in the hands of Prince Tortheldrin. In the past, millennia ago, the prince with the help of his Shen'dralar allies, built five mystical pylons to bind Immol'thar so that they could draw his energy and sustain their eternal existence. Tendris Warpwood which is a deformed Ancient of War, also lives in The Capital Gardens. The door is also guarded by the Warpwood. that leads from Capital Gardens into Immol'thar's prison and allows players to access The Athenaeum.


Gordok Commons (42-52)


Gordok Commons (a.k.a Dire Maul North) is thought to be the hardest, or, at a minimum the most intriguing and fascinating area of Dire Maul. The district is now occupied by an ogre-like tribe named the Gordok. Dire Maul is unique in the sense that those who venture there can choose from a variety of. In the usual way, kill of the bosses in the game for rare drops or take advantage of a variety of quests as well as sneaking assignments to accomplish the "tribute running."
