When first starting out you'll require an a Flint Harvesting Sickle in order to begin collecting nodes.

Harvesting can be described as a collecting Skill in New World that allows players to collect natural plant resources from Harvesting nodes , which can be used to create Skills for trade. Skills; Armorsmithing, Engineering Cooking, Arcana and even furnishing. It will also be used in the Weaving and Stonecutting refining Trade Skills.

It requires an Engineering level of 0 and 1 Flint and 1 Green Wood to make it. You can get both the Flint or Green Wood without the need of a gathering tool by walking up to the respective branch/flint and pressing the interact button. (Default "E) Once all had a Tier 1 camp Fire or workshop is required to create the Flint Harvesting Sickle. After it is crafted, you'll need to set it up and you can start collecting!

It is recommended to select the highest tier possible followed by the best gear score you can get to boost your gathering speed. Please note that the minimum level required tools require an experienced craftsman and one who hasn't out-leveled their ability to make low-level tools. The score for a craftsperson's minimum gear increases with the level. Go through this guide Engineering Crafting Guide (coming soon) for more details on this.

Tip: 2 significant factors that come into play when trying to acquire items during harvesting. Location and luck in harvesting determine what you will get while harvesting. Don't be discouraged when you are first beginning out and not able find unique items.

Where to locate Harvesting Nodes

New World works in two different ways with regards to zone loot. The first one is that the plant that can be harvested does not exist in any zone and the other method is that the plant exists everywhere, but can only access specific loot tables, based on the zone you are in.

Below are infographics on Herbs such as Fungi, Herbs, and Prismablooms which indicate where you can find the products based on the zone.

How do you level Harvesting

The advice in this section can assist you in leveling your skills in the field of harvesting trade. I won't give "optimal routes" because if everyone began using them, it won't longer be the optimal path right now, would it?

Leveling harvesting is a simple procedure. The standard rule is that if it is possible to harvest the plant, you should do so for the reward. Certain plants will yield better experience over others, and you can focus your harvesting, but it will depend on the availability of these items because you might not be the only player searching for these nodes of harvesting.

From Level 1 to 200:

In order to get to Level 200, you'll require a total of 465,521 experience. The most efficient way to step higher Harvesting is to gather Herbs, Blueberries, Berries, and Wirefiber(175) as they provide the base average of 13XP a second. The experience rates to time ratio is all calculated at the base speed of gathering without any modifiers. It would be as if that you used a flint scythe to gather all the nodes when you were at level 1. As you level up and increase the speed of gathering, this of course will change the ratios.

At some point it is possible to quickly harvest herbs, if you happen to attain this level while still advancing then it's beneficial to switch from Silkweed or Wirefiber when you find they are plentiful. This is due to the fact that you will not be able to benefit from a higher rate of harvesting, but you would be able to enjoy higher rates.

TIP Herbs are available all over forts, and are likely to be the most suitable place to level. Blueberries can be found in abundance close to The Shattered Obelisk, Silkweed can be found abundantly in Mourningdale as well as Wirefiber can be abundant in Edengrove. Utilize the interactive map to map out your route!

There is an experience perk that you must seek out on your sickle called Horticulture Discipline. This perk can increase your Harvesting experience [3-9.4percent, based on the gear score on the sickle. This perk is restricted to only sickles. It is essential if you want to boost the power of Harvesting, but at level 200 it's not worth it.

Intelligence 200 points is ideal when it comes to leveling. With 200 points, you will get you 20% harvesting speed and the ability to reduce 10% of the weight for harvested items. The bonus of 250 points (10 Yield %) will not aid in leveling at all, while the 300 point bonus could be helpful if you are looking to invest Azoth for speedy travel (10 Reduction of %). If you happen to have 100 points left to spend , invest 100 in Strength to pay for the 20 encumbrance . Or, put 100 into Constitution for the 50/100 points that provide 20% longer-lasting food and 10% less durability loss on tools.

Traps: There are things on the table that may appear to be helping players level up, but not. Territory XP Gain bonus is one of them. The bonus is not applicable to trade-related capabilities. Luck doesn't affect your experience rates. Finding uncommon, rare or legendary items when collecting doesn't affect the amount of experience you earn. Yield is the same as luck. Earning more of an item won't boost the quantity of experience you accrue.

Enhancing your Harvesting

Bonuses and buffs are the two most effective ways to boost your harvesting. Both of them have methods to stack them, but with all good things , there are some limitations.

Perks are restricted to the kind of item and only capable of having one kind of perk on the item. For instance, an amulet won't have the benefit of Reinforced Harvesting Luck as it is an Armor Perk however, it is able to possess one instance of the coveted Harvesting Luck, since it's an Amulet Perk. There are always exceptions to the rule. Sometimes the quest item can give an item named with a double perk However, none are currently available for Harvesting we know of.

Buffs can be stacked if they are from different sources. For example , I could stack yield boost buffs using the potion of Proficiency and also from the territory control. If you attempt to stack buffs that come from the same source it will just refresh your buff timer.

There's a Harvester armor set that's ideal for players to wear while Harvesting as it should always come with Intelligence and Strengthened Harvesting Luck. Players should encounter these items in the mid-level 19+ realm of monsters in rare drops along with supply chests. This set is only designed for Tier 3/4/5 which is why players will not encounter them until the beginning of the game.

Every Perk includes a Crafting Mod which can be utilized in crafting to ensure the perk's ability to craft and has been included within Perk to help you decide if you might need some armor crafted with the perk you have chosen.
